I really had a hard time on laying pale washes on the petals. I am just happy to see that my patience and adventurism on trying to use the "kneaded eraser" as a masking gum resulted into a cleaner background. It's no longer muddy, but the only problem I can see is that I could've made the colors of the background even richer so that it would portray an effective counterchange that would direct the eye towards the pale-colored flower. more and more practice is needed I believe.
